Position Description
This Financial Analyst position will report to the Accounting Supervisor - Shared Services. This role is primarily responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities and related analytical support in compliance with US GAAP and Modine's financial controls and processes.
The Analyst will develop a proficiency in a number of different accounting responsibilities and duties during the first two to three years. They will be involved in the process of inventory costing and valuation, financial statement analysis, and monthly journal entries.
The Analyst will also be required to learn and comply with all of the relevant Modine policies and help maintain a strong internal control environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete monthly/quarterly accounting close activities.
  • Accurately prepare/process journal entries
  • Inventory costing and valuation
  • Complete account reconciliations and perform associated analysis and follow-up
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports
  • Maintain work instructions and personal standard work documentation
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures as applicable
  • Interface with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit
  • Assist with trial balance variance reviews
  • Participate in process improvement projects and activities

Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 2+ years of relevant experience required
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in SAP / HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) software preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • The individual must be a clear and concise communicator, work well under pressure, be flexible to adapt to shifting priorities, and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Meet reporting deadlines, which require identification and resolution of issues on a timely basis and proactive communication with others around the company.
  • The person filling this position must be accessible to and build positive working relationships with all levels of the organization including General Management, Segment and Plant Controllers, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and various other finance personnel.
