About this Role:
The Quality and Health Equity Division (QHED) is a part of the Quality and Population Health Management (QPHM) program within DHCS. Through strategic partnerships, evidence-based practices, and innovative approaches, we aim to drive continuous improvement in healthcare quality, reduce health disparities, and enhance the overall health status of individuals and populations across the state. Within QHED, the Data Driven Monitoring Section is responsible for the Department's clinical quality measurement and monitoring efforts, including evaluation of NCQA HEDIS measures, the CMS Core Set, and other key indicators of care. The section develops and implements monitoring methodologies to assess the quality and effectiveness of services delivered by Medi-Cal managed care plans and fee-for-service programs. Through rigorous analysis and clear reporting, the team supports data-informed decision-making and helps ensure that Californians receive high-quality, equitable health care. Under the direction of the Data Driven Monitoring Section Chief, the Medical Consultant I works independently and with section team members. The position is responsible for providing clinical input and interpreting clinical and population health data to support data-driven monitoring and enforcement activities as well as engaging with various internal and external stakeholders.
This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming this position, annually by April 1, and when leaving this position.
