What is an amphitheatre?

An amphitheatre is a large, open circular or oval venue with rising tiers of seats surrounding a central performance area. Historically, amphitheatres were used in ancient Rome and Greece for public spectacles, such as gladiator contests, dramas, and sports. Today, modern amphitheatres are often used for concerts, performances, and community events, taking advantage of their open-air design and excellent acoustics. Amphitheatres can be permanent stone structures or temporary installations for specific events.

Job description

About Deschutes River Amphitheater
Deschutes River Amphitheater is an independent, outdoor riverfront venue built in the historic Old Mill District in 2001. Nestled along the Deschutes River, there might not be a better spot in the Pacific Northwest to catch a show.
Named one of "America's coolest venues" by Travel + Leisure, the amphitheater regularly draws music's biggest acts, including Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews Band, Lainey Wilson, Trevor Noah, Bob Dylan, ODESZA, John Legend, Phish, Jack Johnson, Brandi Carlile, and more. The summer concert lineup usually starts over Memorial Day Weekend and continues into the first week of October. The amphitheater, which hosted more than 50 shows in 2025, holds up to 8,000 concertgoers.
Stage Hands support live events at Hayden Homes Amphitheater by assisting with load-ins, load-outs, set changes, and general production needs on show days. This is a physical, behind-the-scenes role that works closely with venue production staff and touring crews to keep events running on schedule. This is a part-time, seasonal, show-by-show position with variable hours depending on event and tour needs.
The pay range for this role is:
20 - 20 USD per hour (Bend)
