Summary


  • POSITION PURPOSE
  • Coordinates and administers medical and nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac testing utilizing the nursing process including: an assessment of the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Performs EKG’s and a variety of noninvasive exercise tests. Prepares test results, and performs other duties as required.


  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Associate Degree: Nursing


  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Entry Level
  • 3 months to 1 year preferred


  • LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse in the State of Wisconsin and/or the State of Illinois based on job location assignment.


  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • The ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language.
  • The physical, technical and cognitive ability as well as the manual dexterity, to use patient care equipment.
  • Previous experience in critical care or telemetry unit is preferred.


  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide ongoing patient care in the outpatient setting.
  • Ability to skillfully assess patient needs via phone and triage to appropriate level of care for intervention.
  • Administer immunizations and medications according to established procedures.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Scheduling of patients.
  • Receive and record verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by the department.
  • Facilitate completion of diagnostic testing as ordered by physician.
