Job description

Company Overview:

Growing real estate development and construction company on Detroit’s east side, offers a first-class office setting, a small-team environment, and strong growth potential for motivated professionals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Track construction cost activity using job cost reports, bill and collect for multiple new-construction and rehab projects
  • Communicate regularly with construction project managers for progress updates
  • Prepare and submit monthly construction draw requests to 3rd party lenders to substantiate spend and facilitate borrowings
  • Prepare US GAAP financial statements using percentage of completion accounting
  • Prepare contractor cost certifications for submission to various states for low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) applications
  • Complete various special projects and assignments

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience with financial accounting and general ledger systems
  • Strong Excel and Word proficiency
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Preferred:

  • Experience with construction accounting
  • Familiarity with Sage 300 (Timberline) accounting software
  • Exposure to tax preparation or audit support environments

Compensation:
