Job Description:

Essential Duties:

  • Repairs electrical mining equipment and facilities.
  • Performs electrical inspections on mine equipment and facilities.
  • Works with different voltages in electrical systems.
  • Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.

Other Duties:

  • Assist other maintenance personnel as assigned.
  • Operate personnel lifts, forklifts, loaders, and other equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, electrical controls and PLCs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot with an understanding of electrical circuit schematics.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • An Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Electronics, or 2 or more years of experience is required.
  • Must hold MSHA electrical certification (green card), or have experience and knowledge to obtain certification in 1 year.

ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR POSITION:

  • Intermittent:None.
  • Occasionally (0-1/3 of workday): lift up to 30 pounds, lift and carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull 20-70 pounds; hand grip 20 pounds with both hands; hand grip up to 60 pounds with preferred hand; sitting up to 4 hours; standing/walking up to 200'; bending, squatting or kneeling to ground level; reaching overhead with both arms; crawling up to 20', maintaining sustained elevated position with both hands; reaching up to 72" grab bar, climbing up to 30" suspended step then up to 5", 12" to 16" steps; climb up to 33 steps.
  • Frequently (1/3 - 2/3 of workday): hand coordination to operate machines and manipulate equipment and tools.
  • Continually (2/3-3/3 of workday):None.

NOTE: Must work rotating shifts. Employees must be able to safely operate company vehicles/equipment as required. Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection.
