RAID Storage Linux THE ROLE: The MN RAID team is responsible for development, quality assurance and delivery of RAID UEFI, Windows and Linux drivers for the AMD laptops, desktops and workstations that support the AMD RAID solution.

As a software engineer in this team, you will work on the latest AMD hardware and software. We are a vertically integrated team spanning from firmware development right up to application layer. If you understand the intricacies of Linux kernel and device drivers for storage this is the role for you.

In this role, you will be actively participating in research, concept development and design ideation to create world class software and firmware. THE PERSON: The MN RAID Development team is on the lookout for a dynamic, energetic software engineer who can design, develop, and maintain clean and robust code and who are willing to take on new challenges and find innovative ways to problem solve. You will be working with a group of engineers to design, develop and validate a complete RAID solution and the newest platforms that AMD produce.

We are looking for someone with a strong programming skill in C and C++ with exposure to X86 as well as source control (CVS/GIT/RMS) and/or Linux architecture. An ideal candidate should have firsthand experience working with Linux device driver development and debug. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate’s primary responsibility is developing Linux Drivers for AMD RAID products.

Candidate will have backup responsibilities of developing Windows / UEFI drivers and GUI Application for AMD RAID products. Sustain the design, development, integration, testing and deployment of AMD RAID solution. Includes cross cultural communication with vendor and customer.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Advanced programming skills in C/C++ for operating system kernel & systems development Solid understanding and experience with the Linux kernel and driver architecture. Good understanding of NVMe protocols. Good working knowledge of RAID & Storport miniport driver.

Knowledge of storage device driver development with windows is a plus. Deep Knowledge of Computer Architecture and Windows Kernel Internals. Good understanding of operating systems concepts, data structures, x86-64 architecture.

Proficient use of git. Python, Shell Scripting, BIOS knowledge an added advantage. Ability to work with minimal supervision on more than one task in parallel.

Ability to mentor technically. Must be self-starter. Effective communication and time management skills.

Collaborating with geographical teams an added advantage. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors/Master’s in Engineering. Preferably relevant experience of 5– 8 years.
