Job description

Amazon Healthcare Security's (HealthSec) Security Operations team is hiring a Security Engineer to be the first line of defense to our most critical customer data. You will be a guardian of healthcare information and work with Amazon Healthcare products to secure customer data. You will drive cross-team coordination, detection and monitoring management, and incident response for all of our medical related services.

You will communicate and work with executives, Legal, and other key business and technical leaders to drive resolution of issues.
You will get to work closely with our detection and monitoring organizations to define new ways to detect activities that may impact our customers and their health records. You will also get to work with other Security engineers from across HealthSec to drive new solutions into our systems to help secure data at a design and implementation level.


Key job responsibilities
Evaluate vulnerability reports, security alerts, and customer issues
Work alongside our Detection and Monitoring team to triage, understand, and improve security alerts
Perform risk assessments andidentifysecurity vulnerabilities in workflows
Advise engineering teams and stakeholders on security best practices including network security, identity management, and secure system configurations
Collaborate with product development teams to integrate security solutions and controls
Support security incident investigations related to infrastructure
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide ad hoc support to customers during non-business hours
Drive security automation efforts including monitoring, triage, and alerting for key security risks
