Job description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager for Aviation Security Regulatory Affairs. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for all aviation security regulators and customs regulators with respect to Amazon's aviation operations. This individual contributor senior manager role requires deep expertise in regulatory requirements around screening and international facilitation standards globally, serving as Amazon's principal expert on aviation security compliance across our expanding international network.
Reporting to the Director of Worldwide Aviation Security, you will be the strategic regulatory liaison between Amazon and government authorities with domain over international aviation security and facilitation

You will drive innovative compliance approaches, lead certification efforts, and enable Amazon Air's international expansion through expert regulatory guidance. As part of Amazon's global aviation security team, you will support Amazon Air, Prime Air, Amazon Global Logistics, and Amazon's broader aviation operation by transforming traditional compliance approaches and establishing Amazon as a thought leader in aviation security regulation.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as primary liaison and relationship manager for international aviation security and facilitation regulatory bodies.
Strategic lead on certification process for Indirect Air Carrier and Certified Cargo Screening Facility authorizations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive screening and facilitation standards across Amazon's global aviation network
Support expansion and adoption of Security Management System (SeMS) leveraging ICAO-conforming framework
Drive innovative compliance approaches that challenge traditional methods while ensuring regulatory adherence
Strategic lead for international cargo operations including bonded warehouse certifications (CBP) and Container Freight Station implementations
Strategic lead Regulated Agent (RA) certification pursuits in international markets
Provide expert guidance on screening requirements globally, including x-ray technology standards, explosive trace detection, and canine screening
Manage regulatory relationships and drive industry evolution through strategic engagement with senior regulatory officials
Develop and maintain aviation security policies and procedures that meet or exceed regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
Advise on international facilitation requirements including customs clearance, bonded cargo processing, and cross-border operations
Collaborate with Legal teams on regulatory interpretations, compliance strategies, and risk mitigation approaches
Represent Amazon at industry forums, regulatory working groups, and standards-setting organizations
Monitor emerging regulatory changes globally and assess impact on Amazon's aviation operations
Develop training programs and materials to ensure operational teams understand and comply with regulatory requirements
Strategic lead for regulatory audits, inspections, and certification renewals across Amazon's aviation network
Drive data-driven compliance reporting and performance metrics for regulatory programs
A day in the life
You will begin your day reviewing regulatory updates and compliance metrics across Amazon's global aviation network. You'll connect with regulatory authorities, from TSA Federal Security Directors to international aviation security agencies, to advance certification efforts, discuss innovative compliance approaches, or address emerging regulatory requirements

Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across Amazon Air, Prime Air, and Amazon Global Logistics to provide expert guidance on screening standards, international facilitation requirements, and regulatory interpretations that enable business growth.
You'll analyze complex regulatory frameworks to develop scalable compliance solutions, working closely with Legal teams to interpret new regulations and assess their impact on operations. You'll lead certification pursuits for Indirect Air Carrier authorizations, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, or Regulated Agent certifications in new markets, managing the end-to-end process from application through approval. You'll also support the expansion of Amazon's Security Management System (SeMS), ensuring it meets ICAO standards while enabling operational flexibility

You may represent Amazon at industry forums or regulatory working groups, contributing to the evolution of aviation security standards. You'll leverage data and analytics to drive compliance reporting, identify trends, and continuously improve regulatory programs across the network.
