Job description

Application deadline: Aug 20, 2026
Are you ready to shape the future of digital advertising at unprecedented scale. Join Amazon Ads as a Technical Program Manager III, where you'll drive transformative initiatives across our sophisticated advertising ecosystem. In this role, you'll tackle complex technical challenges within our Demand Side Platform (DSP) and media planning infrastructure, orchestrating solutions that impact billions in advertising revenue and millions of advertisers worldwide.
You'll be at the intersection of new technology and business strategy, implementing major system changes across our low-latency, high-throughput advertising platforms

This position offers the unique opportunity to work on Amazon's media planning platform (Ads Planner), manage cross-functional programs spanning multiple organizations, and directly influence how the world's largest advertisers plan and execute campaigns. If you thrive on solving ambiguous problems, building scalable solutions, and driving innovation in a fast-paced environment, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale, cross-functional programs across Amazon's advertising ecosystem, managing complex dependencies between multiple teams and organizations while ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Partner with engineering, product, science, and business stakeholders to define technical requirements, validate system designs, and drive architectural decisions that balance business needs against technical constraints for media planning and DSP solutions
- Develop comprehensive program strategies and roadmaps that anticipate bottlenecks, identify risks proactively, and implement mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery of initiatives impacting advertiser experience and platform capabilities
- Drive operational excellence by establishing metrics, monitoring program health, facilitating technical reviews, and implementing process improvements that enhance concurrent project delivery and team efficiency
- Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups through clear communication of progress, trade-offs, and outcomes, escalating critical decisions to senior leadership when appropriate while maintaining positive cross-functional relationships
A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing metrics from overnight deployments of new Ads Planner features, then facilitate a technical design review with engineering teams building reach forecasting capabilities. Mid-morning, you're aligning product managers and applied scientists on the roadmap for AI-powered planning tools, making critical trade-off decisions on scope and timeline

After lunch, you dive deep with the Budget Planning & Optimization team to unblock a dependency affecting the Long-term Sales initiative. You wrap up by preparing a program update for leadership, synthesizing progress across your multi-team initiatives and proposing solutions to emerging risks.
About the team
The Media Planning Applications team is building Amazon's next-generation advertising planning platform, empowering advertisers and account teams to create sophisticated, cross-funnel media plans leveraging Amazon's unique first-party data and AI capabilities. Our mission is to deliver Ads Planner-a comprehensive tool supporting audience insights, reach forecasting, budget optimization, and AI-driven plan creation globally.
We're a collaborative team of approximately 50+ engineers, applied scientists, and program managers working across frontend, backend, machine learning, and platform infrastructure

Our current focus includes launching agentic AI experiences, expanding supply granularity for third-party publisher forecasting, and building public APIs for partner integrations. You'll work alongside passionate technologists who value innovation, customer impact, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in advertising technology.
