Job description

About Us

At Because, our mission is to empower older adults to lead independent and fulfilling lives. We started in 2017 with a simple goal: to make it easier for older adults and their families to access the essential products they need - from bladder protection to specialized supplements and skincare. Today, we are the #1 trusted brand for this fast-growing and often overlooked user segment.

We are a high-growth, ~$55M revenue business on a profitable trajectory, backed by top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures and Index Ventures. Our reach is truly omni-channel; we operate a robust DTC business on Shopify, a thriving Amazon presence, and are stocked in over 1,700 retail doors, including Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Target.

We run lean and move fast. Our commitment to excellence has earned us recognition as an Inc. Best in Business honoree and a Certified Great Place to Work, reflecting our dedication not only to our 1 million+ customers but also to our team.

Position Summary

Own paid acquisition across Meta, Google, and emerging channels. Report directly to the CEO. This is a hands-on IC role with one defining twist: we’ve built an internal AI automation stack (Claude, MCP integrations across Polar Analytics, Amazon Ads, Meta, Shopify, Klaviyo, Loop, Ramp, Sonar), and your job is to use it to operate at 10x the output of a traditional performance marketer.

If your instinct is to do everything manually in Ads Manager and spreadsheets, this isn’t the role. If your instinct is “how do I automate this, let the AI draft the first pass, and free my time for the decisions that actually matter” – we want to talk.

Position Responsibilities
  • Meta (primary): Campaign structure, budget allocation, audience strategy, creative testing cadence, bidding. Target: scale volume while holding CAC within plan.

  • Google (secondary): Search, Shopping, PMax, YouTube. Protect brand, expand non-brand efficiently.

  • Emerging channels: Evaluate and test TikTok, Applovin, CTV, podcast, and others as warranted.

  • Measurement: Incrementality testing, geo-lift, conversion lift, brand lift studies, MMM inputs, attribution sanity checks. We don’t trust platform-reported numbers at face value.

  • Creative ops: Partner with creative team to hit 100–150 new ads/month. You set the testing framework and call what wins.

  • AI leverage: Extend our internal stack. Build agents, workflows, and reporting automations (leveraging Claude, n8n, Cursor, Perplexity) that compress what takes other marketers hours into minutes. Claude is a teammate, not a tool.

  • Reporting: Weekly performance reviews with CEO. Clear, quantitative, decision-ready.

What We Are Looking ForRequired
  • 3–5 years of hands-on paid acquisition experience, primarily Meta, at a DTC or subscription e-commerce business

  • Strong quantitative foundation – comfortable with SQL, spreadsheets, basic stats, and LTV/CAC math

  • Track record of scaling spend profitably ($1M+/month budgets)

  • Demonstrated ability to run structured tests and act on results

  • Experience with subscription economics (cohort retention, churn, LTV)

  • Active, fluent user of Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor for daily work – can show concrete examples of how AI has changed how you operate

Strongly preferred
  • Technical background (CS, engineering, applied math, or equivalent self-taught)

  • Experience building custom reporting or automation: Python, APIs, MCP servers, Zapier/Make, no-code tools

  • Google Ads fluency (search, PMax)

  • Has built or contributed to internal tooling, dashboards, or agents

Nice to have
  • Exposure to Amazon Ads or retail media

  • Experience with creative testing at high volume

  • Background at a high-growth consumer brand

How We Work as a Team
  • Small team, flat structure, minimal process

  • Data over opinions

  • We push back on our own conclusions and on AI outputs

  • AI is built into every workflow, not bolted on

  • Direct communication, fast decisions, reversible by default

Benefits
  • Comprehensive healthcare, including medical, dental, and vision

  • 401K with a 5% match

  • Flexible PTO

  • Remote-first company

  • Company-paid life insurance

  • Paid parental leave

  • Annual company-wide gathering to see your colleagues in person!

The reasonably expected base pay for this position is $80,000 to $115,000 for the level scoped. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a performance-based bonus of up to 30%. Our salary bands are structured based on a combination of geographic tiers and internal leveling. Compensation is determined by multiple factors assessed during the interview process, with the final offer reflecting these considerations.

Because is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, citizenship status, veteran or military status, disability, or any other characteristic prohibited by federal, state, and/or local laws.

Artificial Intelligence at Because

At Because, we are building the future with artificial intelligence at the core of our innovation. As an AI-forward organization, we recognize that AI tools are transforming how we all work, create, and solve problems.

We see AI as a force multiplier, a tool that enhances human intellect and creativity, not a replacement for it. At the same time, we hire people for their unique problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to move ideas into action. Our interview process is designed to understand those core abilities.

Being fluent in AI has become essential to excelling in our roles. You will see that reflected in our interview questions as we not only screen for individual skills and thought processes, but also AI fluency and how you use it in your job. This philosophy guides us in balancing these two goals, ensuring a fair and transparent process for everyone.

How to Approach AI in Your Interview

We want to be clear about our expectations so you can be successful!

  • When AI is Encouraged

In specific, designated parts of the interview, we will invite you to use AI tools. This is your opportunity to show us how you work with them. For example, we might ask you to complete an assignment at home or virtually, where AI assistance is permitted, or dedicate a section of a live technical screen where we'll explicitly ask you to use an AI tool to help you. What we’re looking for: In these scenarios, we are assessing your ability to craft effective prompts, critically evaluate the AI’s suggestions, and integrate its output into a correct and well-reasoned solution.

  • When AI is Prohibited

For any live interview question, you should assume AI assistance is not permitted unless we explicitly tell you otherwise. This is our chance to assess how you approach problem-solving through your own critical thinking.

How Because Uses AI in Recruiting

We use AI-assisted tools and features in our hiring process to effectively communicate, source, screen, rediscover talent, and manage recruiting operations. AI is not used to make hiring decisions.
