Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
As a Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer, you will be responsible for developing SIPI collateral supporting system integration of advanced technology, defining and developing Signal and Power Integrity test methodologies, participating in design reviews, performing SI and PI simulations, providing reports, collaborating with other engineers, validating your designs in the lab, and working to ensure a high technical bar for hardware designs across Amazon Leo.
About the team
The SI/PI team interacts broadly across the entirety of Amazon Leo to deliver electrical designs. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams within Leo spanning electrical and ASIC design, from consumer electronics to high-reliability, space grade products. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. You will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in signal integrity design and simulation of high-speed interfaces such as DDR, Ethernet, JESD, and PCIe.
- Hands-on experience using EM SIPI simulation tools such as ANSYS, ADS, Hyperlynx, Sigrity, etc.
- Experience using VNAs, oscilloscopes, and high-fidelity probing techniques.
- Experience participating in schematic and design reviews.
- Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools - Mentor Xpedition preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in PDN design, simulation, and lab validation for power integrity
- Demonstrated design innovation in complex board design
- Experience in with silicon and package-level signal and power integrity analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
