Job description

Join our Healthcare Finance Operations team as a Senior Financial Analyst focusing on refund operations across Amazon Health Services, including One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy. You will be responsible for coordinating manual refund workflows, serving as a subject matter expert for the AR teams across these businesses, and managing unclaimed property and escheatment matters in collaboration with the Tax team.
This role requires expertise in Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable (AR/AP) systems across Amazon Health Services businesses, with a focus on process improvement, banking coordination, and stakeholder collaboration. You will manage communications with banking partners regarding failed refunds and payment disbursements, and interact with the escheatment team on unclaimed property compliance.
In this position, you'll leverage your problem-solving skills and financial acumen to improve existing refund processes across multiple healthcare business lines, analyze uncashed checks, design process improvements, and implement effective financial controls

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams across banking, compliance, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining the highest level of controllership.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate refund communications and resolution timelines, serving as the operational point of contact for all unclaimed property and escheatment matters across Amazon Health Services (One Medical, Amazon Pharmacy)
- Manage banking partner relationships, including coordinating resolution of failed refunds, ensuring timely reprocessing of returned payments, and overseeing account setup and check disbursement processes across multiple funding sources
- Partner with the Tax and escheatment teams on unclaimed property compliance, including regulatory expertise, rule interpretation, proper handling of dormant funds, and reporting requirements
- Analyze data from AR and AP systems across Amazon Health Services to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities in refund processes.
- Design, lead discussions, and drive implementations of process improvements that enhance efficiency and controllership across refund and escheatment workflows
- Proactively dive deep into financial data to ensure reporting accuracy, identify discrepancies, and execute fixes while maintaining high standards of controllership

Your day begins by reviewing refunds across Amazon Health Services businesses and the status of uncashed checks requiring action. You'll collaborate with AR specialists from One Medical and Amazon Pharmacy to address questions about complex refund scenarios, coordinate with banking partners on failed or returned payments, and work with the Tax team on unclaimed property matters. Throughout the day, you'll analyze refund data to identify process improvements, meet with stakeholders across banking and compliance to discuss and implement solutions, and document updated procedures to ensure consistent financial controls are maintained across the organization.
