Job description

At Amazon, we are committed to being Earth's Safest Place to Work. To get there, we are looking for an exceptionally talented and empathetic leader for the position of an onsite EHS Specialist in a permanent position. A possible relocation will be supported if certain criteria are met.

As a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will lead the EHS department at the respective Lab/R&D locations. You will work closely with the local management and report directly to the AR EHS Global Lab Safety Manager.
Key job responsibilities
Owning EHS compliance for a robotics research and development lab
Conducting risk assessments and influencing implementation of risk reduction measures
Advising employees and management on the subject of occupational health and safety and environmental regulations
Advising and influencing designs around machinery safety requirements and standards
Familiarity and compliance with ISO 13849
Implementing legal and Amazon internal requirements in occupational health safety and environmental regulations
Working with various support functions (HR, Engineering, Facilities)
Ensuring compliance with Massachusetts Occupational Safety and Health laws and guidelines as well as company guidelines and completing the necessary formalities to comply with them
Evaluating accidents and statistics and developing prevention programs to avoid accidents
Creating a safe work culture and promoting commitment to occupational health and safety measures of management and teams
Close cooperation with the local fire brigade, the occupational health and safety authorities and any professional associations and maintaining these relationships
