Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced amazing devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, Hearables, Wearables, and Smart Eyewear
What will you help us create.
As a System TPM, you lead the hardware engineering teams in developing products from concept to mass production. You own the end-to-end schedule, report on engineering issues, define mitigation strategies, lead cost down efforts, and keep senior management up-to-date on progress.
You are the single threaded owner for ensuring end to end delivery of a device.
Key job responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. In this role, you will:
- Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements
- Deep dive on key technical issues and lead teams to find solutions within program constraints
- Own cross functional development schedules
- Lead cross functional development on new technology from design through mass production, working across all hardware disciplines
- Work with remote teams across the world and travel to Asia to complete prototype builds to test and validate our product designs.
- Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and to drive key decision making
- Manage resource prioritization, drive cost down efforts, look around corners to prevent common development pitfalls.
- Lead key product development milestones following a waterfall style development within hardware.
