Job description

We seek an analytical thinker who has experience developing, executing, and refining growth strategies to lead a newly created ad sales strategy and planning function. Advertisers leverage Amazon's data-driven insights, engaging creative formats, and diverse placements to reach the right audiences to grow their brand. Our ad sales team informs, educates, and supports advertisers across six continents.

Success in this role requires defining ambitious goals regarding how our sales team can better serve advertisers drawing on best practices across Amazon and the digital advertising industry, developing internal relationships to align product, finance, recruiting, and account management teams on inputs needed to hit these goals, and inspecting and removing blockers as teams execute on these goals.
A qualified candidate thrives in articulating complex concepts to cross functional audiences using internal metrics, voice of the customer, and industry trends to support recommendations. Amazon's environment is fast-paced, rewarding entrepreneurial thinking, flexibility, detail-orientation, focused prioritization, enthusiasm, and comfort working across continents and time zones.
Key job responsibilities
Build relationships with sales, operations, product, marketing, finance, HR, and leadership to define multi-year operating plans for global division of ad sales, including revenue, product adoption, and headcount targets
Own quarterly business reviews, leading finance, sales, and strategy leads in compiling a document for ad sales VPs, guiding deep dives as needed
Define metrics, tools, and processes needed to set and achieve product adoption, revenue, and sales productivity goals
Identify gaps to goals, build mechanisms to close, implement change with peers in leadership, monitor impact, and enable ad sales to deliver on ambitious targets
Develop best practices for improving sales productivity and cascade across teams in 15 countries
A day in the life
This role will be evenly split between primary research and analysis, authoring strategy documents, and leading internal review meetings requiring a mastery of influencing senior leaders without direct authority.
