Job description

Amazon has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager to support Amazon Leo, Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. In this role, you will support capital expenditure and leasing activities that power the Amazon Leo Network, partnering with global stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges, build scalable processes, and uphold the highest standards in our month-end close.
Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate is eager to drive AI and automation to streamline processes and strengthen controls, takes full ownership in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and delivers impactful results that scale our rapidly growing infrastructure.
Key job responsibilities
Own accounting for capital expenditures and leasing activities supporting the US Amazon Leo satellite network
Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Manage complex accounting judgments related to fixed assets (ASC 360), leases (ASC 842), and research and development (ASC 730)
Partner cross-functionally with global stakeholders on complex accounting transactions and processes
Scale accounting processes to support rapid global growth
Drive automation and AI enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers.
Support responses to audit inquiries and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements.
