Lakehaven Water and Sewer District has an immediate opening for one (1) Control Systems Technician at the level supported by their knowledge, education/certifications, and/or job experience (I, II, III, or IV).
Position Range -- Pay Level -- 2026 Hourly Pay Range
Control Systems Technician I --11 -- $42.37 - $62.07
Control Systems Technician II -- 12 -- $44.46 - $65.18
Control Systems Technician III -- 13 -- $46.74 - $68.39
Control Systems Technician IV --14 -- $48.98 - $71.81
Position placement and pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications. As a Lakehaven Control Systems Technician, you will be part of a team that has been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for its environmental stewardship and has been a long-standing member of the American Water Works Association. Lakehaven has a service area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County, making us the second largest special-purpose water and sewer district in the state. Our water system includes 450 miles of water mains, 25 active wells and 12 storage tanks, which allows us to meet a current annual average water demand of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) from the community. Lakehaven also has two wastewater treatment plants, 35 sewer lift stations, and 350 miles of sewer mains capable of collecting and treating up to 15.6 MGD. Our employees work hard to produce and treat high-quality drinking water and to ensure treated wastewater adheres to EPA standards which safeguards the local ecological system of Puget Sound. Control Systems Technician I, II, III, IV - Maintain the controls system network, SCADA amp; PLC Systems, and instrumentation equipment at our water production facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and sewer pump stations. This includes calibrating instrumentation controls, troubleshooting and modifying existing PLC and SCADA programming, maintaining control systems networks, and performing various other tasks including electrical work as needed to support the District’s Electrical Team.
The successful candidate (depending on the position applied for) should have some combination of the following:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) to four (4) years college degree in Instrumentation, PLC and SCADA programming, Control Systems Networking, and Electronics is desired but not required.
• Desired schooling or two (2) or more years' experience (depending on position being applied for) in an industrial environment installing electrical controls, calibrating instrumentation controls, modifying existing PLC and SCADA programs, modifying control systems networks, and providing preventative maintenance for industrial control system network equipment.
• One (1) or more years' experience (depending on position being applied for) in an industrial control system environment related to the water and wastewater industry is desired but not required.
