Job description

Amazon's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) is a new kind of internet, built to reach more places and make connecting simple for everyone. To support Amazon LEO, the Ground Infrastructure Services (GIS) Physical Security team is seeking a Regional Security Manager for the North America region. The GIS Physical Security team is responsible for protecting people, assets, and critical services at ground terminal sites across the globe. They leverage security technologies, comprehensive risk management programs, and robust operational procedures to safeguard an expanding network of global sites to enable next-generation satellite communications.


As a Regional Security Manager, you will manage day-to-day security operations across North America and support South America ground terminal sites by advising internal customers on security risks and mitigations, supporting construction design, managing vendors, coordinating incident response, managing physical security systems, and maintaining global awareness to protect Amazon Leo ground infrastructure and personnel. This role requires effective collaboration with the GIS teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and security partners to deliver high impact security initiatives, operational improvements, and technology advancements.
Key job responsibilities
Security Operations & Support: manage day-to-day security operations for assigned sites within the North America and support South America region, maintaining high standards for the physical security of Amazon Leo infrastructure and ensuring compliance with security protocols.


Security Advisory: provide security guidance to internal Amazon Leo customers on security-related issues, focusing on enhancing the safety of personnel and the security of ground stations within assigned areas.
Stakeholder Collaboration: work effectively with site leadership, Amazon Leo GIS teams, and peers within Amazon's security organizations to implement security strategies and operational improvements.
Security Risk Management: support the integration of security risk management principles into Amazon Leo GIS operations, helping to identify and mitigate security risks at assigned sites.


Vendor Coordination: Manage vendor-provided guarding services within assigned areas, ensuring security contractors deliver quality services and meet performance standards.
Incident Response: support crisis response, threat management, and emergency operations for physical security incidents at assigned sites, coordinating with regional security leadership and Amazon Security teams.
Project Support: support security programs and projects within assigned areas, contributing to the implementation of security improvements and operational efficiencies.
