We are seeking a highly experienced Senior EDI Business Analyst with strong expertise in retail EDI integrations, Order-to-Cash business processes, remittance processing, and IBM webMethods-based integration environments. This role is a combination of Business Analyst and EDI Analyst, requiring the candidate to independently work with business stakeholders, ERP teams, IBM webMethods technical teams, and major retail vendors such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, and other big-box retailers.
The ideal candidate should be able to lead requirements gathering, EDI analysis, trading partner coordination, mapping validation, SIT, UAT, defect triage, production issue resolution, and end-to-end support across the retail order lifecycle.

Mandatory Business & Domain Expertise
Order-to-Cash (O2C) Knowledge
Strong understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash business processes, including customer orders, order management, inventory allocation, fulfillment, shipping, invoicing, customer payments, cash application, remittance processing, deductions, chargebacks, and dispute resolution.
Ability to understand how EDI transactions impact the overall O2C lifecycle, including purchase orders, order acknowledgements, shipment notifications, invoices, payments, and remittance advice.
Experience working with finance, accounts receivable, order management, customer service, logistics, supply chain, ERP, and vendor teams to resolve O2C-related EDI issues.
Retail / Big Box Vendor Experience
Hands-on experience working with big-box retail vendors such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Costco, or similar large-volume trading partners.
Strong understanding of retail vendor onboarding, compliance requirements, EDI certification, retailer-specific testing, ASN compliance, chargebacks, deductions, and vendor scorecard impacts.
Ability to independently coordinate with external trading partners for requirements clarification, test execution, production cutover, issue resolution, and ongoing support.

856 / 857 Advance Ship Notice / Shipment Notice Shipment detail, ASN compliance, packaging, carrier data, and fulfillment confirmation.
810 Invoice Invoice generation, billing validation, invoice transmission, and customer invoice exceptions.
820 Remittance Advice / Payment Payment, remittance matching, cash application, deductions, short pays, and reconciliation support.
997 Functional Acknowledgement Acknowledgement processing, transaction receipt confirmation, and failure investigation.
824 Application Advice Preferred: application-level validation messages and business exception handling.
IBM webMethods & Integration Understanding
Good working knowledge of IBM webMethods-based EDI integration environments.
Ability to work with IBM webMethods technical teams to explain business requirements, validate EDI mappings, review transformation logic, support test execution, and troubleshoot production failures.
Need not be a hands-on developer, but must understand EDI flows, mapping concepts, integration points, acknowledgements, error handling, and end-to-end transaction monitoring well enough to independently drive technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements
Gather and document business, functional, EDI, and trading partner requirements.
Conduct gap analysis between ERP capabilities, business process needs, and retailer EDI specifications.
Translate business requirements into clear EDI specifications, mapping requirements, test scenarios, and traceable acceptance criteria.
Act as the liaison between business users, ERP teams, integration teams, and external vendors.
Trading Partner Management
Coordinate onboarding, certification, testing, and production support with retail trading partners such as Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart, Amazon, and similar vendors.
Review vendor EDI specifications, testing requirements, compliance rules, and business process expectations.
Support partner-related issue resolution involving orders, acknowledgements, ASNs, invoices, remittances, deductions, and chargebacks.
Testing, SIT & UAT
Define SIT and UAT test scenarios across end-to-end O2C and EDI flows.
Coordinate test execution with ERP teams, IBM webMethods technical teams, business users, and external vendors.
Validate inbound and outbound transactions across ERP, middleware, and trading partner systems.
Support defect triage, root cause analysis, retesting, and business sign-off.
Production Support & Issue Resolution
Investigate EDI failures, mapping issues, rejected transactions, missing acknowledgements, ASN exceptions, invoice failures, payment/remittance mismatches, and ERP integration errors.
Coordinate issue resolution across business, ERP, IBM webMethods technical teams, infrastructure teams, and trading partners.
Support production deployments, post-go-live validation, and continuous improvement of EDI operations.

ERP Collaboration Experience working with ERP teams such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Infor, or similar enterprise systems.
Business Analysis Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, gap analysis, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and UAT leadership skills.
Testing Leadership Ability to independently plan and coordinate SIT, UAT, partner testing, defect triage, and business sign-off.
Communication Strong communication skills with ability to work independently across business, ERP, integration, vendor, finance, and supply chain teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with Microsoft D365, Oracle ERP or similar ERP platforms.
Experience with IBM Sterling B2B or other EDI/B2B integration platforms is an advantage.
Knowledge of AS2, SFTP, FTP/SFTP, HTTPS, VAN connectivity, acknowledgements, and transaction monitoring.
Supply chain, logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, order management, or retail fulfillment experience.
