Prime Air is seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Flight Monitor to join our dynamic team. This critical role is central to our commitment to delivering packages safely, efficiently, and reliably through our advanced drone fleet. The Flight Monitor will be responsible for real-time monitoring of drone flights, ensuring operational compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key job responsibilities
• Continuously monitor the status of all active drone flights within the assigned region, utilizing our state-of-the-art monitoring systems.
• Identify and respond to any deviations from planned flight paths or operational parameters.
• Ensure all drone flights comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
• Coordinate effectively with the relevant teams to implement immediate response strategies to mitigate risks and resolve situations.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on flight activities, incidents, and anomalies. Provide feedback and insights to support continuous operational improvement.
• Utilize excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills while maintaining a high attention to detail in all tasks.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills while working effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Adhere to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes.
This role requires the ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
This role requires the ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
This role may require travel, up to 25% of the time
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
This position will be subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing if conducting safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA. Federal law also requires Amazon to determine an applicant's DOT drug and/or alcohol testing history prior to hiring him/her into a position that would require them to conduct safety sensitive functions as defined by the FAA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of weather patterns for flight operations
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
- Travel up to 25% of the time
- Experience interpreting flight monitoring systems or similar technical platforms
- Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms
- Understanding and application of FAA regulations and aviation policy and safety protocols
- Can decode METAR readings, interpret weather conditions that may affect operations, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Experience working with computer systems and troubleshooting
- Can work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions, including working outside in outdoor temperatures and refrigerated environments
- Can show a demonstrated record of good attendance and the ability to consistently arrive on time for scheduled shifts

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
