About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to head our Amazon Services business. This role requires a deep understanding of Amazon's complex ecosystem, including 1P (Vendor Central), 3P (Seller Central), Fresh, and Amazon Ads. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in advertising strategy and execution, operations management across channels, and annual vendor negotiations (AVN). They will be expected to drive client growth, unlock new opportunities, and lead Blue Wheel's marketplace business with strategic vision, operational excellence, and a client-first mindset.

Responsibilities
  • This role sits on the agency executive team. Influence company-wide decision-making through collaboration with CEO on strategy, growth initiatives, and culture shaping.
  • Serve as a senior advisor and thought leader, representing Blue Wheel with Amazon executives and senior client stakeholders. Equally, represent Blue Wheel as an industry thought-leader in webinars, panels and business development as necessary.
  • Lead all aspects of Amazon operations for clients, including business strategy, assortment and inventory management, sales optimization, Amazon Ads, and P&L ownership across 1P, 3P, and Fresh.
  • Shape and influence enterprise-level client media and commerce strategies by integrating Amazon Ads into broader retail media and connected commerce initiatives.
  • Provide strategic guidance for clients during annual vendor negotiations (AVN) to secure favorable terms and agreements.
  • Analyze business performance KPIs across retail, Fresh, and advertising to identify improvement plans and optimization opportunities; develop executive level narratives for communications and sell-through.
  • Maintain deep expertise in Amazon policies, platform updates, algorithms, marketplace dynamics, advertising capabilities, and industry best practices, ensuring both clients and internal teams remain ahead of change.
  • Drive organizational transformation within Amazon operations, including innovation in 1P, 3P, and Fresh strategy, Ads media planning, and omnichannel integration. Improve operational efficiencies and cross-functional team collaboration. Identify and create new IP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and projects.
  • Lead and mentor delivery teams responsible for operations and account management; set direction and priorities, maintain standards and quality, provide support and professional development.
  • Manage succession planning and talent development strategies to ensure bench strength across all levels of channel expertise.
  • Manage contract renewals and negotiations with client counterparts, scope of work and staffing plans, P&L for service lines.
  • Ensure consistency and quality control for operational maintenance such as billing processes, time tracking and revenue forecasting.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in ecommerce or retail, including significant expertise leading Amazon businesses across Vendor Central (1P), Seller Central (3P), Fresh, and Amazon Ads.
  • Proven track record owning enterprise Amazon P&Ls and driving profitable growth through operational excellence, merchandising, inventory strategy, fulfillment, and commercial strategy.
  • Deep expertise in Amazon Ads, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), media planning, and budget optimization and the integration into broader retail media strategies, with a proven record of driving performance.
  • Direct experience leading annual vendor negotiations (AVN) with Amazon.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate Amazon as a business leader, balancing commercial strategy, operational execution, financial performance, and client growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise C-level executives and senior stakeholders at Amazon and in client organizations as well as agency partners and stakeholders. Excellent communication and narrative-building.
  • Recognized thought leader with experience in industry forums, innovation initiatives, or driving transformational approaches to commerce.
  • Strong record of building and scaling organizations, including leadership development and succession planning across cross-functional teams.
  • Agency experience and/or knowledge of agency operations, operating in a service capacity. Experience negotiating scopes of work and contracts, creating staffing plans & allocations, managing P&Ls.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of e-commerce trends, Amazon policies, and industry best practices in both retail and advertising.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand trends across retail, Fresh, and Ads to generate actionable insights.
  • Knowledge or experience in other retail marketplaces and ad networks such as Wal-Mart and Target preferred.
