Job description

Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as a Maintenance Technician in our Greenville, PA location. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of machinery and equipment essential for the production of aluminum castings. This position requires a skilled and versatile individual capable of performing various maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventative maintenance measures to optimize plant efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
Technical
  • Perform preventative and repair maintenance on industrial machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems, loaders and cranes to extend equipment lifespan and optimize performance
  • Dismantle, install, inspect and test machinery and equipment
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as grinder and drill
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other machinery or rolling stock parts
  • Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Install and maintain electrical apparatus and components, but only as qualified to do so by prior training or experience
  • Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut and join metal parts
  • Detect machine or equipment malfunction and diagnose to determine cause and minimize production interruptions (troubleshoot)
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including motors, controls and PLC's
  • Calibrate machines to meet production specifications and quality standards

Organizational
  • Maintain accurate digital records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history
  • Maintain machinery and equipment inventories
  • Maintain personal and Company tool inventories
  • Maintain work area in a safe, neat and orderly condition
  • Utilize spare parts inventory system
  • Work with management to come up with ideas to improve processes
  • Understand and apply company policies and procedures
  • Participate in meetings effectively
  • Utilize support systems associated with maintenance
  • Using the CMMS, identify and suggest corrective actions for patterned failures
  • Aid the maintenance department in reaching an RCM and WCM future state
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree preferred.

Experience
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting, preferably in aluminum casting or similar manufacturing industries

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of and adhere to industrial safety regulations, protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and protocols
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal downtime and assist in achieving production targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and communicate quality-related information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands.
  • Proven ability to work in a low supervisory environment while successfully meeting goals.

  • Ability to calculate and apply mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to practical situations
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
