Location: San Jose, CA 95134 – Hybrid 3 days onsite 

Duration: 24+ month contract

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer with deep expertise in Altium Designer to support the design and development of complex, high reliability printed circuit boards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with multilayer PCB layouts, power electronics, and component library creation in demanding engineering environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Expert level proficiency in Altium Designer with hands on experience using the tool as the primary PCB design platform.
  • Strong experience designing high power PCBs with a solid understanding of power distribution, thermal considerations, and layout best practices.
  • Proven experience creating and routing 6 to 8 layer and 16 to 18 layer printed circuit boards.
  • Extensive experience with PCB component library creation and management.
  • Strong background in PCB layout with a primary focus on board design and library development.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and translate them into manufacturable PCB layouts while adhering to design standards and quality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing PCBs for automotive or aerospace applications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and design practices for high reliability electronic systems.
  • Experience collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure successful product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop complex PCB layouts using Altium Designer for multilayer, high power designs.
  • Create, maintain, and manage PCB component libraries in accordance with company standards.
  • Design and optimize 6 to 8 layer and 16 to 18 layer PCB layouts for performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross functional engineering teams to ensure layout accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Perform layout reviews and incorporate design feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure PCB designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing requirements.
