Job description

Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is seeking an Altium librarian on Consultant, as needed basis. This position will not be benefit eligible and will work in a consultant capacity as a 1099 employee. It is initially anticipated the selected candidate would work 5-10 hours a week.

AMS designs advanced high frequency RF and mixed signal circuit boards for DoD customers. Candidates main job functions will be:

  • Standardize AMS libraries
    • Components
    • Templates
    • Footprints
  • Standardize our output documentation
    • Gerbers / ODB
    • Fab drawings
    • Assembly drawings
  • General cleanup of existing library
  • "Best practices" guidance.

Candidate must be able to work independently but also work with a team of AMS engineers, as needed.


Candidate must be a US citizen and must have a proficient working knowledge of the Altium design ecosystem. 10+ years' experience is desired but not necessary. Candidate must be familiar with high-speed routing techniques and types of PCB signals such as microstrip, coplanar waveguide, etc. Candidate must be knowledgeable about power plane layout best practices. Candidate is expected to bring experience and knowledge to the design process and assist engineers with layout technique expertise if possible. Familiarity with CAD is a plus. Candidates who can perform basic schematic capture in Altium are desired.
