Job description

Regions Hospital EMS Education is looking for an ALS EMS Education Specialist. 

The EMS education specialist will act as a coordinator for advanced level initial and continuing education. The education specialist responsibilities will include creating material for all ALS education, coordination and instructing of the Regions EMS Paramedic Program, and coordinating with clinical supervisors and Medical Directors for Critical Case Reviews, Critical Thinking Lab and quarterly CME. This position works with Education Supervisor to align content of education to MN, WI, NREMT and other requirements. The education specialist develops ongoing video based education content to be recorded by instructors, clinical supervisors and physicians. The specialist may also recruit, schedule, and coordinate subject matter expert presentations and content sharing. This position instructs ALS courses independently and cooperatively with per diem instructors. The EMS education specialist will also manage equipment; encourage, mentor and manage students and assistant instructors in a professional manner; and instruct students in didactic and practical education according to course and/or Regions Hospital EMS guidelines. The EMS education specialist will take an active role in education quality assurance and course improvement activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • Associates degree in any field; preference to education, leadership or business areas of study.

    • Three (3) years of experience in providing advanced prehospital patient care. Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat software.

  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

    • Current Minnesota or Wisconsin paramedic certification required.

This position is an exempt role.
