Akron, OH

Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is currently looking for a qualified Property Manager to join our team located in Akron, Ohio. We are a diverse non-profit organization that specializes in the development and management of affordable housing and senior resident living communities. In this role, you will be responsible for operations administration, resident service, maximizing occupancy levels, and adhering to compliance guidelines.

  • Pay: $60,000-$65,000/per year, offer dependent on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 4 days schedule is available if desired following 30 days of employment
  • Weekends as needed
  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Overtime

The right candidate will have:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • College degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in property management
  • Affordable housing industry software a plus
  • Industry designations (COS, ARM, LIHTC) preferred
  • Good working knowledge of building and property maintenance and management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Basic computer skills and experience preferred, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills including the desire to meet and exceed resident expectations

Our Property Manager will:

  • Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, HUD guidelines, Fair Housing Standards, ADA rules, and all other federal and state laws
  • Prepares re-certifications, leasing applications, verifications, occupancy agreements, and corresponding reports
  • Collects and posts rents in a timely manner, monitors rent balances, maintains accurate resident ledgers, and distributes relevant notices
  • Enforces lease and occupancy policies and regulations necessary to maintain order within property premises
  • Screens applicants to ensure compliance with Tenant Selection Plan and regulatory requirements
  • Oversees office functions, including office hours, filing, computer systems, and reports.
  • Monitors leasing performance, retention, and recertification’s to achieve a 97% occupancy goal
  • Conducts move in and move-out inspections in a timely manner.
  • Conducts on-going training with staff members, which includes changes in HUD guidelines, workplace safety, and best practices.

The Eta Tau Lambda is an alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, located in Akron, Oh, and was formed in 1960 specifically to support their local communities.
