Job description

At Allianz Life, we are driven by our mission - we secure your future - and by our common goal of caring for tomorrow. We care for our employees by promoting an inclusive culture where everyone has the opportunity to grow and be rewarded for their success. We care for our customers by creating new products that help them protect their families and pursue their retirement goals. We care for our community by giving time, resources, and donations. And we care for the future by supporting sustainability, protecting the local environment, and promoting equality in our communities.
What you do:
The Product Contract Group is at the front-end of driving results, delivering innovative products to customers, and contributing to the financial strength of the company. One of the Product Contract Group's primary roles is to draft contract forms for new or enhanced products and obtain state regulatory approval for their use, ensuring the forms are compliant with applicable regulations and consistent with the company's objectives.
As a Product Contracting Consultant, you are responsible for the drafting and regulatory filings of annuity and life insurance products. This includes learning our products (i.e., registered index-linked annuities, fixed indexed annuities, and indexed universal life insurance), leading product contract drafting initiatives, preparing and submitting filings, communicating with regulators and internal business partners to address any filing questions, analyzing state regulations, and monitoring Department of Insurance (DOI) filing statuses. You will report to the Product Contracting Manager.
Filing & Process Management:
  • Prepare and manage regulatory filings to obtain timely state approvals of contract forms, including creating new filings, reviewing team member's filings, and facilitating communication with internal stakeholders and external regulators
  • Drive the team's productivity through proactive process management, including activity tracking and metrics, document retention, and other process-related activities
  • Actively monitor the status of filings with DOI (via SERFF)
  • Maintain and enhance the team's operation processes to ensure consistency and efficiency

Problem Solving & Influence
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners (actuarial, legal, product content & delivery, etc.)
  • Proactively identify roadblocks and collaborate with the team to develop practical solutions

Drafting & Project Management:
  • Build a general understanding of Allianz products, including their benefits, differentiators, and unique features
  • Lead or contribute to the drafting of new or revised contract forms, applying efficient and innovative drafting strategies
  • Maintain a repository of state-specific contract language to ensure contract forms comply with each state's regulatory requirements

Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
What you bring:
  • 0-1 years of experience required: Basic knowledge of contract drafting and regulatory research
  • Advanced degree required: Must hold a JD or obtain within 6 months of hire
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas

Job posting range $58,000-86,000
Note the job posting range is exclusive of company benefits or other compensation. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive program. If you are hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, competencies, and/or education. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
