North Allegheny School District is one the highest performing public school districts in Pennsylvania and recognized nationally for its focus on academic achievement and growth, future preparation, school climate and student and staff wellness. Located just north of Pittsburgh, it is the largest suburban school district in Allegheny County with over 8,500 students.
We are seeking Day-to-Day Pennsylvania Certified Substitute Teachers to work throughout the District to support our students. Substitute teaching provides the opportunity to learn and experience new things in an ever-changing work environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, dependable, educated, and possessing the ability to execute lesson plans in a variety of classrooms daily.
*A Pennsylvania Department of Education Teaching Certificate is required for this position*
Placeholder letters for pending certificates from a college/university are accepted until the Instructional I certificate is received to start the interview/paperwork process.
If you do not possess a PA Department of Education Teaching Certificate, please apply for our Guest Substitute Teacher' program when enrollment opens in the fall and spring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Executing Lesson Plans
Executing Daily Operations of Classroom
Taking Attendance for Each Class Period
Managing and Maintaining Proper Student Behavior
Reporting All Necessary Information to the Primary Teacher
Other Duties as Assigned by Building Principal
To work within a Pennsylvania Public School, the following clearances are required:
Act 34 - PA Criminal History
Act 114 - FBI Fingerprinting
Act 126 - Mandated Reporter Training
Act 151 - Child Abuse History
Act 168 - Sexual Misconduct and Disclosure Form
*If you have already obtained these clearances, they must be within one (1) year of hire date.
Flexible Schedule Available!
Daily Rate is $120/day.
