Job Description
Auto Clad System Welder supporting the Houston Plant. The employee must demonstrate the ability to perform all defined functions and responsibilities to operate Auto Clad System machine.
• Perform Machine set ups per process instructions
• Perform set-up and complete operation of a CNC TIG cladding System Station
• Review all specifications to insure revision control
• Select & load or program machine per qualified weld specification
• Thoroughly clean work piece in all areas to be overlaid
• Preheat work piece per approved weld specification
• Overlay work piece utilizing automated TIG Cladding System machinery
• Grind work piece to remove any excess weld material
• Inspect work to ensure conformity to requirements
• Complete weld map for all weld applied
• Ensure product traceability is maintained by marking work piece per the EPS
• Complete all required sign-offs whether electronic or written
• Perform "Weld start-up operations" when required with customers
• Operate stress relief operations per weld specification
• Material Handling & Rigging
• Load, program, and maintain furnaces per the engineering specifications
• Soldering/brazing per the engineering specifications
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Attend required meetings / training sessions
• Assist in training of personnel
• Perform all training modules as assigned
• Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety and environmental regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities
• Perform all duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of automatic machine GTAW Clad welding
Eligibility Requirements:
• Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment at least 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting
• Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Qualified to approve weld specifications using clad welding
• Experience with advanced cladding methods including robotic CMT and automatic Speed Clad.
• Past experience using a personal computer
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings & specifications
• Ability to direct activities when require
• Proficient in inspection equipment / tools and techniques
Forklift operator's license preferred but not required
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, proven ability to prioritize and work to schedules and targets
• Ability to correctly interpret drawings, specifications, weld procedures and shop orders
