Job description


The Welding Technician will serve our Water Heater Division, located in Montgomery, AL.
The Welding Technician is responsible for all welding functions in the Boiler Department including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding. In addition, the applicant has responsibility for optimizing welding processes, planning for improvements, and maximizing company profits.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining Parameter Sheets on all Welding applications.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs wide variety of Welding Equipment.
  • Monitors all welding processes including GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding.
  • Monitors leak rates in Commercial and Residential departments.
  • Plans for improvements for maximization of company profitability.
  • Maintains safe workplace environment and adheres to all safety requirements including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Monitors welding processes and materials to detect and resolve future problems.
  • Ensures weld reliability and integrity throughout all welding processes.
  • Establishes a working relationship with both direct and indirect support departments, including Maintenance, Supervisors, and Superintendents.
  • Provides daily reports to Welding Engineer.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of five years welding process experience

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have knowledge and experience of GMAW, SAW, and Resistance Welding
  • Must have knowledge and experience pertaining to Robotic Welders and their functions.
