Position Summary

Cooperstown All Star Village is seeking self-motivated energetic Dish washers/ Utility Workers. The Dishwasher/Utility Worker plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position is responsible for washing and sanitizing all types of dishes, utensils, cookware, and foodservice equipment according to health and safety standards. The role also includes general utility tasks such as cleaning kitchen areas, organizing storage spaces, handling waste disposal, and assisting with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding uniforms, towels, and linens.

The Dishwasher/Utility Worker supports kitchen operations by ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed promptly and all equipment is ready for use. This position helps maintain a smooth workflow for cooks, servers, and the overall food and beverage team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment.

  • Operate dish machines safely and monitor temperature and chemical levels.

  • Clean, mop, and sanitize dish room floors, walls, prep areas, and service stations.

  • Maintain trash, recycling, and waste removal for kitchen and dish areas.

  • Assist with basic food-service prep such as organizing serving utensils and stocking stations.

  • Transport clean dishes and utensils to dining or buffet areas in time for meal service.

  • Support returning dirty dishes from dining areas during busy periods.

  • Follow proper chemical handling procedures and wear appropriate PPE.

  • Laundry done daily and properly

  • Report equipment issues or sanitation concerns to supervisors immediately.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required; training provided.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, humid kitchen environment.

  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of following sanitation standards.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Preferred Requirements

  • General Knowledge and background of cleaning, sanitizing and setting up for event, service.

  • Full-time availability with flexibility for peak periods, opening days, and events

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work long shifts in high-volume settings and meet physical demands (standing 8+ hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive tasks).

  • Work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and peak tournament periods.

  • Routinely exposed to varying weather, dust/particles, and high-volume kitchen conditions

  • Frequently bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting and reaching.

  • Visual ability to identify cleanliness standards and potential safety hazards.
