Compensation: $134,900 - $185,500 / year

Align Technology is a global medical device company that pioneered the invisible orthodontics market with the introduction of the Invisalign system in 1999. Today, we develop innovative, technology-rich products such as the Invisalign system of clear aligner treatments and the iTero scanner services to help dental professionals achieve the clinical results they expect. The Sr Product Manager, Treatment Planning will be responsible for leading Align’s global Predictability Tx planning strategy, working closely to support the VP Treatment Planning and Visualization. They will drive and champion Align’s next generation of predictability improvements in collaboration with clinical, research and operations teams.

Responsibilities
  • Be the primary person responsible to drive vision, roadmap, execution and adoption of Align’s Predictability improvements
  • Define customer profiling and segmentation and coordinate best-practice sharing and implementation through the regional teams
  • With the VP Global Product Treatment Planning, develop a clear, consistent and compelling vision and roadmap for the Predictability vertical
  • Spend time with business owners, external doctors and internal users
  • Study and be familiar with competition and competitive products
  • Define what it is we build based on insights, customer needs, industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Draft high level technical architecture with the R&D team
  • Interface with marketing, operations, IT and other functional groups
  • Define technical product requirements and leads the technical product roadmap
  • Groom backlog as product owner
  • Represent business owners and customers
  • Demands an aggressive timeline; act as agile product owner
  • Aim to deliver deep, meaningful competitive products
  • Help define User Acceptance Testing scenarios
What We're Looking For
  • This position reports directly to the VP, Treatment Planning and will be based in San Jose, California
  • Experience & leadership in software product ideation, definition & management with at least 8 years of experience
  • Comfort in managing matrix-organized teams
  • Demonstrated mastery of software engineering and SDLC processes
  • Experience with domain knowledge as appropriate: Orthodontics/Dentistry, 3D CAD/CAM, UI/UX/Usability, Web Services, etc.
  • Enabler and coach of agile project management practices
  • Deep understanding of computer science & data processing
  • Strong technical and people leadership skills
  • Team player with ability to explain technical issues to business users
  • Ability to work with regional teams to drive product releases, utilization and insights
  • Ability to rollout plans for products at a global level by working with internal teams and regions
  • Make effective decisions under tight deadlines; use analysis, experience and process to reach conclusions
  • Proven track record of delivering results
  • Excellent presentation and oral communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Education
  • Bachelor or Masters or PhD in Sciences or Engineering
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • 2+ years of Software Product Management Experience
  • 2+ years of 3D CAD/CAM and/or Animation Systems and/or UI/UX/Usability and/or Web Services/Cloud
  • 2+ years of Effective Mature Agile Project Management
  • Knowledge of current evolution in Software Engineering & Technology areas related to Medical Devices, Treatment Simulation, 3D Data Representation, UI/UX Usability, etc.
  • Proven experience with defining and managing customer expectations in development leadership roles is a plus

If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus total compensation and equity. For locations outside the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically.
