What We're Doing
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Global Algorithm Engineer. Come join the C2BMC team to put your engineering skills to work as we drive the entire enterprise forward serving one of our Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customer's most critical missile defense mission needs! C2BMC is an IDIQ structured program comprised of multiple task orders responsible for the design, development, deployment, integration, testing, operations and sustainment of a software based Command/Control and Battle Management system. This system provides US Commanders around the globe essential situational awareness and is the integrating element central to the MDA's missile defense missions. The MDA Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team and collaborates with multiple government agencies, contractors, universities, and other organizations to accomplish a broad reaching mission.
The Work
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing tracking and custody and firing algorithm solutions, as well as developing and validating complex models and simulations. You will work with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs. You will be responsible for the following: Designing, integrating, and testing tracking and custody algorithm solutions for tracking and fire control products. Developing and validating complex models and simulations, such as 6-degree-of-freedom simulations and effects-based simulations. Evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments Supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities. Collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings Facilitate Root Cause Analysis events in order to identify root causes and associated corrective actions. Evaluate process/product performance and participate/interface with the engineering counterparts on program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual requirements. Monitor the product development including requirements allocation, architecture, design, development, integration, test and acceptance of products and solutions. Ability to evaluate data to identify systemic issues and trends; provide reports to senior management. Provide inputs to the QPM to ensure sound labor estimates on ECPs and on-going proposal efforts Witness integration and test activities and formal quality testing, as required Perform reviews and inspections of program artifacts/deliverables and associated activities to assure quality requirements processes and standards are met.
Who You Are
A successful candidate has experience in algorithm experience in at least one of the following: optimization / machine learning / state estimation. Software Quality Engineering and/or related discipline processes including Systems Engineering Methodologies (Model Based and DoDAF). Basic understanding of Software Languages (such as JAVA and Python). Code and peer review experience. Experienced reviewer of technical documentation. Experienced root cause analysis practitioner. Process auditing experience.
