Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Pay Rate: $51.74 Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain – processing not required immediately About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II professional to support Algeria B&P efforts, focusing on conceptual design, preliminary mass properties, and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development. This role will support active programs, with contractors backfilling critical engineering needs. In this role, you will help design and develop advanced aerospace systems, ranging from mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft and space exploration platforms. You’ll be involved across the full product lifecycle, contributing to innovative and high-impact engineering solutions. What You’ll Do
• Support conceptual design and preliminary engineering analysis • Contribute to mass properties and BOE development • Design and develop mechanical structures and systems • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams • Support product lifecycle activities including design, testing, certification, and deployment • Apply modern engineering tools and methodologies to deliver cutting-edge aerospace solutions Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices • Experience with CATIA V5/V6 or similar CAD/CAE tools • Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications
• Background in Aerospace & Defense • Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Experience with engineering simulations: o Finite Element Analysis (FEA) o Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) o Thermal Analysis Knowledge of: o Parametric design o Model-based definition o Material/hardware selection o Manufacturing and production processes Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Primarily indoor work environment • Minimal exposure to outdoor elements, noise, or hazardous materials • Regular sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive hand movements • Occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs)
