About Us
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.
Job Summary
The Mathematics Academic Resource Center (MARC) pairs an Embedded Tutor with an MGA math course to encourage student learning and engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Attend class hours of an assigned MGA math course on a weekly basis.
  • Speak with the course instructor of the assigned course on a weekly basis.
  • Offer students in class assistance where appropriate as determined by the course instructor.
  • Assist students with learning platforms such as ALEKS and D2L.
  • Assist students with technology such as the TI-84 calculator.
  • Assist students with study techniques, note taking, and scheduling.
  • Maximum of 2.5 hours per week.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Middle Georgia State University
  • Current GPA of at least 3.00.
  • Concurrently employed as a MARC tutor.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Comfortable with basic technology.
