How you'll contribute
A Drug and Alcohol counselor who excels in this role:
  • Provides ASAM assessment, intakes, and counseling services to adult clients.
  • Provides individual and family sessions., and group psychotherapy as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records, including adequate paperwork to facilitate proper
    billing. Knowledgeable of ASAM levels of care and their appropriate and effective application.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, and employee related information.
  • Delivers personalized, efficient care with respect for the individual's spiritual and cultural differences.
  • Participates in community consultation and education as requested.
  • Participates in facility treatment team meetings communicating clinical impressions.
  • Compiles comprehensive patient/family history and records the data.
  • Works to ensure effective performance and productivity maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate patients.

What we're looking for
The Mental Health Counselor must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.The requirements listed below are below representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred and ability to work with culturally diverse population.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • AA in Social Services or equivalent (90 quarter/60 semester college credits) or bachelor's degree in behavioral health sciences.
  • Must be enrolled in an approved school and gaining the experience required to receive a Substance Use Disorder Professional credential
