Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, is now hiring a CDL Driver Trainee in Juneau, AK.

If you're a hard worker with a great attitude and a clean driving record, this is your chance to get paid $25.00 per hour while you train and then transition into a $27.00 per hour full-time CDL driving role.

No CDL? No problem. We’ll pay you to get it!

Here’s How It Works

  • $25.00 per hour during your training phase

  • Complete a weeklong classroom course, behind-the-wheel training, and road test

  • 🪪 Earn your Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement

  • Step into a full-time Local Driver role at $27.00 per hour

Training Timeline

You can complete the full process and start your driving career in as little as 3 weeks! Most individuals can get it within a few months!

Once You're a CDL Driver, You’ll:

  • Operate a garbage truck safely on local routes

  • Collect solid waste and recyclables from residential and commercial customers

  • Follow route sheets and work independently

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance

  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers

What You’ll Need

  • ✅ A valid Class D license and ability to obtain a CDL permit within 90 days of start date

  • 🧾 A clean driving record

  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions

  • Strong communication + basic reading/writing skills (English required)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • 1+ year of general work experience (related experience is a plus)
