Location: Austin, TX

Job description:

The HHSC Enterprise Applications IT area is preparing for an upgrade to PeopleSoft Financials version 9.2. Currently, HHSC has Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Purchasing and Asset Management from PeopleSoft Financials version 8.8 implemented. With the upgrade to a 9.2 version delivered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA), HHSC will expand the module scope to include the eProcurement, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Contract modules. A PeopleSoft Technical System Administrator is needed to assist with upgrade project technical preparation tasks.  

Job requirements:

Installation, setup and configuration of the application and web servers for the delivered CPA CAPPS Financial version 9.2 baseline application in a Linux x86-64 environment. 


Converting/porting the CPA CAPPS Financial version 9.2 AIX Unix baseline to RedHat Linux.  


Performing a detailed analysis of compare reports of the legacy PeopleSoft Financial version 8.8 application (HHSAS) to the CPA CAPPS Financial version 9.2 to identify and catalog customizations.


Performing and documenting table structure analysis between PeopleSoft version 8.8 and 9.2.


Identifying and documenting the upgrade path from PeopleSoft Financials version 8.8 to 9.2.


Applying PeopleSoft fixes and bundles to the application(s).


Assisting with the cataloging of existing reports (SQR, Crystal, XML/BI Publisher, nVision) and queries.

The worker should have extensive experience as a PeopleSoft System Administrator and be very knowledgeable of the PeopleSoft tools necessary for the above tasks.

Required qualification:

8+years Experience as a System Administrator for multiple large PeopleSoft projects.


5+years Experience performing PeopleSoft System Administration duties


4+years Experience upgrading PeopleSoft version 8.x to PeopleSoft version 9.2


4+years Experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 and People Tools 8.52


4+years Experience with developing PeopleSoft upgrade paths


4+years Experience with porting PeopleSoft architectures from AIX Unix to RedHat Linux


4+years Experience configuring Change Assistant hubs.


4+years Experience with the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA)


4+years Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials query writing using Query Manager and SQL


4+years Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials report writing using SQR


4+years Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials report writing using XML/BI Publisher


4+years Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials report writing using Crystal Reports


Strong Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels.


Strong Trained in PeopleSoft System Administration tools, including Change Assistant


4+years Experience with PeopleSoft version 8.8 and People Tools 8.52


2+years Demonstrated experience with AIX Unix


2+years Demonstrated experience with Linux x86-64 and network clients


2+year's Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).


3 Good teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with other technical staff on the project.


2+years Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse teams


To Understanding of computer related tools, methods, platforms and operating systems.


1+year Experience working with enterprise software solutions.
