SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of ramp agents and ensuring the efficient, safe handling of aircraft on the ground. This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ยท Supervise the ramp team operations, including aircraft loading and unloading

ยท Coordinate ramp activities to ensure timely turnaround of flights

ยท Train and mentor ramp team members on operational procedures and safety protocols

ยท Monitor team compliance with airline and airport regulations

ยท Conduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily tasks and safety focus points

ยท Oversee the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail to prevent damage or loss

ยท Manage communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operations

ยท Ensure proper use and maintenance of ground support equipment

ยท Implement and enforce safety measures and hazard prevention on the ramp

QUALIFICATIONS

ยท 18 years of age or older

ยท Eligible to work in the United States

ยท Must have a valid state-issued driverโ€™s license with an acceptable driving record

ยท Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)

ยท Minimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation field

ยท Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role

ยท Strong knowledge of ramp safety and operational procedures

ยท Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices

ยท Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means

ยท Pass a background check and drug screen

ยท Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
