Position Overview


Contingent upon contract award


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate agricultural tractors, rotary mowers, and bush hog equipment to maintain over 3,200 acres of ranges, airfields, and training areasย 
  • Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and debris removalย 
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure continuous operationsย 
  • Safely operate on uneven terrain, slopes exceeding 15 degrees, and around obstacles such as runway lighting, signage, and structuresย 
  • Maintain clear visibility of critical airfield systems (runway lights, taxiway markers, PAPI/REILS systems) by ensuring vegetation controlย 
  • Remove debris and police work areas before and after mowing to prevent Foreign Object Damage (FOD) hazardsย 
  • Follow all OSHA, Army Safety (AR 385-10), and environmental compliance standards during operationsย 
  • Coordinate daily work activities with Range Control and Airfield Operationsย 
  • Maintain situational awareness while working in active military training and airfield environmentsย 
  • Maintain professional demeanor and attitude with military and civilian personnel
  • Support seasonal and emergency operations including erosion control, storm cleanup, and hazard response
  • 40 hours a week/limited Overtime

Qualifications/Requirements

  • One year experience operating equipment listed above
  • US Citizen
  • Valid North Carolina driver's licenseย 
  • OSHA & Army Safety Complianceย 
  • Outdoor Operations in High-Risk Environments
  • High school diploma or GEDย 

Desired Qualifications

Valid NC Class B commercial Driver's License
