ICON Aircraft Warehouse And Logistics Role

ICON Aircraft is a consumer airplane manufacturer founded in response to the creation of the sport flying category by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Given these enabling regulations, ICON's mission has been to reinvent personal flying by providing consumer-friendly, safe, technologically advanced aircraft. ICON's long-term vision is the democratizatization of personal flight and 3-D mobility.

ICON's first aircraft is the A5, an amphibious sport plane that fuses outstanding aeronautical engineering with world-class product design and unprecedented safety features. The A5 is the world's first production aircraft that is classified as spin-resistant, making it one of the safest small aircraft ever created. It has won some of the world's most prestigious design awards and has inspired a global following. ICON is headquartered in Vacaville, CA, 50 miles northeast of San Francisco.

Mission of Role: Perform ICON warehouse and logistics requirements for incoming, internal and outgoing material effectively and efficiently. Support the Director of Quality & Supply Chain in cost saving initiatives and system improvements.

Location: Tampa, Florida

Reports to: Director Quality & Supply Chain, Vacaville, California

Primary Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by unpacking incoming shipments, inspecting freight for damage, signing freight bills, verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received, checking all shipments against packing lists, and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies
  • Determines packaging needs, packs, and affixes all necessary labels and paperwork required for domestic, international, and hazardous materials
  • Physically and systematically support all material control, movement, storage, replenishments, distributions, and kitting to support internal and external customers
  • Support systems to deal with material expedites and shortages
  • Support requirements for cycle counting and other inventory accuracy and maintenance functions
  • Perform all required business systems (ERP or other) to support job functions
  • Continuously improve the processes surrounding material control, levels, accuracy, movement, and usage methodology to support manufacturing and business needs, coordinating with Production and Supply Chain
  • Work closely with Materials Planning to support the internal supply chain plan
  • Support ICON Quality requirements
  • Work closely with other departments to continuously optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of materials control at ICON
  • Perform other duties assigned by ICON management
  • Continually develops knowledge of Freight and Sea shipping regulations and practices.
  • Available and willing to work overtime (and weekends) as needed
  • Responsible for physical integrity of ICON property (machinery, equipment, raw material, consumables, indirect acquisitions, etc.) when receiving, storing and shipping them
  • Ability to effectively multi-task

Requirements:

Preferred Experience & Education:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) - Required
  • 2 years minimum previous warehouse and logistics experience
  • Computer skills/experience including ERP applications, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Qualified to operate a forklift
  • An understanding of the base principles associated with inventory management/warehouse controls
  • An understanding of transactional reversals and conditional inventory adjustments
  • Exposure to annual inventory and the ability to lead the activities if warranted.
  • Hazmat shipping experience
  • International shipping experience
  • Ability to tow a trailer or the willingness to learn
