Job description

The Air Freight Export Supervisor will oversee the daily execution of air freight services provided to customers, ensuring shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. This role involves supervising air freight agents and supporting account managers to maintain high service standards. The supervisor will coordinate closely with the Operations team to ensure the proper handling of cargo at arrival and departure points. This role will also support customer growth initiatives by assisting in maintaining relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to expand air freight services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day air freight export operations, ensuring services are performed accurately, on time, and efficiently.
  • Supervise and support a team of air freight export agents and assist account managers in meeting customer service and operational goals.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members to maintain a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards related to air freight services.
  • Coordinate closely with the Operations team to ensure proper handling, receipt, and dispatch of cargo.
  • Monitor operational processes to reduce errors, improve efficiency, and maintain service quality.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with key customers by responding to operational needs and resolving issues promptly.
  • Support efforts to grow air freight business by identifying opportunities within existing accounts and assisting with new client onboarding.
  • Prepare regular operational reports related to shipment performance, service quality, and customer feedback.
  • Promote best practices in logistics operations, quality assurance, and customer service within the air freight team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the logistics industry, preferably in the perishable or temperature-controlled sectors.
  • Proven experience in supervising air freight export operations and leading a team.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is required; proficiency in Spanish is preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to respond to operational challenges and customer needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
