Air emissions testing is the process of measuring pollutants released into the atmosphere from various sources, such as factories, power plants, or vehicles. The goal is to ensure that emissions comply with environmental regulations and do not exceed permissible limits for substances like particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, and greenhouse gases. Technicians use specialized equipment to collect and analyze air samples, often following strict protocols set by agencies like the EPA. Accurate emissions testing helps protect air quality and public health by identifying sources of pollution and ensuring corrective actions are taken if necessary.
