Job description

Compressor Service Technician

Gritton & Associates is a subsidiary of Ambient Enterprises and a company that was founded in 1967 by Earl Gritton. We are a supplier of equipment for the HVAC, plumbing and industrial systems.

Our company was founded on the principle of representing top-tier companies and providing top-tier representation within the territory. When the company began, the line card, like so many others from that era, was significantly smaller with Bell & Gossett as our anchor line with a few other supporting lines.

We are seeking a Compressor Service Technician who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at various customer sites. Those with mechanical, electrical, or HVAC experience will do well in this field.

During a training/probationary period you will be riding along with one of our Master Technicians to gain on the job experience. After training is complete a company service truck will be provided for you for driving to and from the job sites (work purposes only). We provide field training and a continual education and certification program through our various compressed air equipment manufacturers and the Compressed Air and Gas Institute (CAGI).

Job functions:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on compressed air equipment such as Air Compressors, Filtration, Dryers, Air Tanks
  • Repairing equipment in the field 75% of the time and in the shop 25% of the time.
  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, time required, parts used, and follow up work.
  • Providing excellent quality service with outstanding customer support.

Experience requirements: (This is an entry level position, none of the following experience items are required, just preferred)

  • Mechanical experience
  • Experience with Air Compressors
  • Automotive mechanic experience
  • Forklift experience, trailer towing, and/or knowledge of Compressor service procedures (plus).

Educational requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Must be able to communicate in English – written and verbally.
  • Mechanical/trade certification (Preferred).

Other requirements:

  • Must have a valid US Driver License and a clean driving record. Must be able to pass background and drug screening tests upon hire, and randomly thereafter.
  • Must be able to stand for long hours, use hands, kneel, vision, and lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Must be able/willing to take instruction from older, younger, male and female coworkers.
  • Must have strong attention to detail skills and be able to follow instructions.
  • Must be willing to learn and improve skills.
  • While normal business hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am to 4:30pm, overtime with occasional weekend work and rotating on-call is required.

Hourly Rate: $28-$32 and based on experience
