Ardurra is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join our Central Region team! We are open to candidates in Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio, Texas!

Primary Function

The Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager will lead and deliver traffic engineering projects for municipal, county, and DOT clients throughout Texas. This role will provide technical leadership, manage project scope, schedule, and budget, support business development efforts, and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate will possess strong traffic engineering expertise, experience managing multidisciplinary projects, and a desire to help grow Ardurra's Transportation practice throughout the region.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Traffic Engineering Task Lead on transportation projects for municipal and DOT clients.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and overall delivery.
  • Perform and oversee traffic studies, capacity analyses, safety studies, and traffic impact analyses.
  • Develop signing and pavement marking plans, traffic signal plans, and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Support Traffic Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
  • Perform crash analyses, signal timing studies, and operational evaluations.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Support proposal development, statements of qualifications, and business development efforts.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for continued growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas required.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification is preferred
  • ITS and TSMO experience
  • 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation design.
  • Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, traffic operations, and project management.
  • Experience with traffic analysis and modeling software such as Synchro, HCS, Vissim, Aimsun, Visum, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with signing and pavement marking design, traffic signal design, and traffic control plans.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and leadership skills.
