They typically work under the supervision of senior engineers to analyze traffic patterns, collect data, design traffic control devices, and help develop solutions to improve road safety and efficiency. Junior Traffic Engineers often collaborate with city planners, public officials, and construction teams to ensure transportation projects meet regulatory standards and community needs. This role provides valuable experience for those pursuing a career in transportation engineering.
