Job description


DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Web Developer, Software Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Web Developer, Software Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability; working with programming languages and frameworks including Java, J2EE, and PEGA to build applications, micro services and case management systems; utilizing automation and continuous delivery methods to build, test and deploy applications; working with the Software Development Life Cycle using agile methodologies, scrum and CI/CD resulting in faster delivery of software solutions; working on production stability, monitoring, application Resiliency, and Security of the large-scale financial services and their IT systems; working with cloud services including Pega Cloud to deploy applications and integrate systems; and working in the Pega Smart Dispute framework to build case workflows to manage fraud and non-fraud dispute by integrating with payment networks such as Visa and Mastercard.
