Job description

Dietary AideGeneral Purpose

The Dietary Aide supports the Cook and Dietary Supervisor by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Assignments may vary based on the needs of each shift.

Essential Duties
  • Learn daily food-service routines quickly

  • Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals

  • Clean and break down returned trays; wash dishes

  • Operate dishwashing machine and monitor water/chlorine temperatures

  • Prepare snacks and nourishments

  • Stock groceries in a clean, organized, and safe manner

  • Sweep, mop, take out trash, and maintain kitchen cleanliness

  • Clean work surfaces, equipment, and refrigerators

  • Maintain sanitary standards in all kitchen areas

  • Assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed

  • Participate in new staff orientation and ongoing training

  • Work cooperatively and respectfully with all departments

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid food handler's certificate

  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
