As a Controller focused on AI training and evaluation, you will use your background in financial reporting, controllership, audit, tax, and technical accounting to review and refine AI-generated content. You will create realistic accounting and finance scenarios, evaluate responses for technical accuracy, and help teach AI systems to think more like seasoned practitioners. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys analytical work, wants meaningful exposure to AI and large language models, and is looking for a flexible, high-impact consulting opportunity in a fully remote setting.
Responsibilities
  • Review accounting-related scenarios and AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze financial reporting, audit, tax, and accounting-related content to ensure it aligns with professional standards and best practices.
  • Provide expert feedback and recommendations to improve the quality, clarity, and reliability of AI-generated output.
  • Develop realistic accounting and finance business cases and scenarios based on professional experience in areas such as controllership, revenue recognition, lease accounting, treasury, and month-end close.
  • Create clear, well-structured explanations of accounting concepts, technical accounting issues, and practical applications for use in AI training.
  • Identify inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and gaps in AI-generated content and propose specific improvements.
  • Evaluate AI reasoning and logic in financial and accounting contexts and highlight errors or weaknesses in analysis.
  • Collaborate with project teams to refine guidelines and standards for evaluating and improving AI responses.
  • Work independently to manage workload, maintain high quality standards, and meet project timelines over the full engagement period.
  • Use AI and large language model tools at a user level to test, review, and iterate on accounting and finance outputs.

Essential Skills
  • Approximately 7+ years of substantive accounting experience, with a strong foundation in practical, hands-on work.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • background in public accounting, corporate accounting, audit, tax, advisory, FP&A, financial reporting, or finance operations.
  • Expertise in financial reporting and controllership.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with revenue recognition and lease accounting.
  • Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Exposure to treasury activities and month-end close processes.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • General familiarity with AI and large language model (LLM) tools at a user level.
  • Availability to work 30-40 hours per week across the full 12-week engagement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • CPA certification preferred but not required; practical expertise is highly valued.
  • Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience developing or reviewing complex accounting and finance business cases.
  • Comfort working in a consulting-style engagement with a focus on deliverables and outcomes.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and how AI can support corporate finance, FP&A, investment analysis, and business decision-making.
  • Motivation to contribute to the accuracy, reliability, and practical value of AI tools used by accounting and finance professionals worldwide.

Work Environment

You will work 30-40 hours per week over a 12-week engagement, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The schedule offers flexibility while still requiring consistent availability to meet deadlines and collaborate as needed.
